Recognizing that some team members are recent graduates or may lack familiarity with the local startup ecosystem, I set a goal to invite industry experts, including our esteemed board members, for knowledge sharing sessions twice a month. The goal is to facilitate their professional development. Despite resource constraints, I have successfully organised several sessions for my team, which have proven to be highly beneficial and well-received.
On Feb, I invited Charlotta Falvin, the Charperson of the Board at Skåne Startups to meet 14 recently-joined team members. Below you can read the summary.
Charlotta expressed her delight at witnessing the increasing number of talented internationals joining the vibrant startup scene in Skåne. It contributes to the region's thriving ecosystem. With decades of experience in the startup sphere, she is committed to giving back and passing on her entrepreneurial spirit to the next generation. She served as a board member for over 10 organizations.
- Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, she remained optimistic about the post-Covid economic outlook in the Nordic region. She encouraged companies to reconnect and rebuild the connections.
- Diversity and inclusion were important topics of discussion. Charlotta highlighted the significance of events like Women in Entrepreneurship (WiE). It is important to create a platform where personal struggles are shared and support is provided. She advocated for open doors and amplifying women's voices.
- As southern Skåne continues to attract professionals from around the world, she stressed the importance of retaining international talents within startups. She encouraged companies to recognize the potential of hiring international employees and the value they bring.
The knowledge sharing session ended with a round of applause and heartfelt laughter. And I would like you to meet some of these new team members.
